In 1991 my Loving grand mother, Annie Arnette suffer from Alzheimer Disease and it was very Divestating to see the only living grand parent go down right in front of our very eyes. It was very hard on all her grandchildren, because she was the only Grand parent that any of her grand children new, and had. Because all of our other grand parents was dead before we were able to know them. And we all live in the Alton Park Community in Chattanooga with my grand mother being able to see us from her front pouch by way of her kitchen window. My grandmother had 2 other daughters and they lived on the same street as my grandmother also. My Grandmother only had 3 children, so we all grew up together as a family. We were a very close family and we believe in caring for your love one at home if you could. So my mother Virginia Jackson became my grandmother Caregiver, and it was very hard on my mother, she began to burn out fast and age fast also. At that time I was an RN and stop by after work each day to check on my mother and grandmother, and my grandmother would have given my mother a hard time all day, and I saw how hard it was on my mother. She would not take a bath,my grandmother didn't want to go out side because of the wind.It just became to hard to care for her because she couldn't understand and my mother was trying so hard to care for her mother, that when I told my mother one day I'm going to care for people like this and give family members a break. And you know what that how I got started in wanted to have an Adult day center and an Assisted Living Facility right here in Chattanooga Tennessee!
